Families, please refer to my email sent out on Tuesday, 5/28 regarding last week's update.
What We Are Learning:
Math: It is time to review for the End of the Year Math Test! The class will take this test on Friday, June 7th and Monday, June 10th. To prepare, we will review important concepts that the class needs reteaching on during class. Each student will receive an "EOY Math Test Skills to Know" packet on Monday and they will have access to each unit's review packet to take from the classroom.
Based on your child's performance on the End of the Year test, they may qualify to take the accelerated math test for next year. If your child qualifies to take this test, I will email you, but please know that they will be expected to sit for this test the week of June 10th.
Language Arts: In reading, we are working on our Wax Museum Projects. A letter about the Wax Museum was sent home today (5/31). Please review it with your child and return the RSVP slip by Tuesday, June 11th. In writing, we are developing ideas for our final Realistic Fiction stories.
Social Studies: We are learning about government! Today, we learned about our country's first government, the Articles of Confederation, and students worked in groups to design their own government.
