What We Are Learning:
Math: This week, we focused on division-related story problems and reviewed for Tuesday's Division Post Test. Students will be expected to solve multi-step story problems that require all operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division), as well as show their division knowledge, on the test. Review packets are due on Monday and the test is on Tuesday!
Reading: We are almost at the end of The Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo. This week, we practiced growing bigger ideas about characters in a book.
Writing: We drafted our literary essays, this week. Next week, we will spend a couple of days revising and editing. Then, we will move right along onto a new literary essay that will be filled with interesting ideas about stories!
Social Studies: This week, students used their class time to work on their research project about a battle from the Revolutionary War. All incomplete projects are to be completed at home. Groups will present their research and projects on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week!
Genius Hour: The presentations that have happened so far have been very interesting! Everyone has now signed up to present their research either next week or the following week.
